| My score was going up, but it seems like once it hit 4 o'clock (MT), it started dropping. I guess the voters are working in shifts. |

I think the lack of comments is a reflection of people not being sure of what Low Key is.....after seeing all of the entries, I am second guessing my image and the definition.... |

Why must you stop liking your shot? Just because DPC didn't like it FOR THIS CHALLENGE doesn't mean it isn't a good shot. If you like it, its good!

Why must you stop liking your shot? Just because DPC didn't like it FOR THIS CHALLENGE doesn't mean it isn't a good shot. If you like it, its good! [/quote]
AMEN, Idnic! If I stopped liking my shots because of the scores, I'd have to quit taking shots altogether! :) The idea is to challenge YOURSELF! Learn from others in here and challenge the ideas that YOU come up with and look at how you progress in your own style. That's the main thing in here. DPChallenge is NOT the only place to use your photography. What may not be one group's "ideal" may be in other ways and other places. Like your own photos and you cannot go wrong! |

I know what you mean....the problem is i have 0 comments no one even elaborated as to y they gave the low vote.....
Well i am currently being hammered in Free study too, in far worse manner, so it has taken of the pressure off Low key :P |

There you have a big point Shaurya, when you shoot what you think is your best, you do wish to know why the voters are giving it a low score. I think for scores of 4 or low a comment should be made mandatory (alas! then we'll have comments like 'not good' or 'too bad'. But the score mystery is all so complex that there seems to be no easy answers. My Tree submission have got 7 wonderful comments but is still struggling at 4.98 - so maybe we don't have all the answers.
Maybe one solution cud be that just like a Critic Club we can have a Comment Club here and its members should leave a comment on certain % of images in each challenge. These members can be for a limited time depending on the time available to the member

Hmmm good idea....I have no problem with low score's but knowing the reason why they went low and getting constructive inputs on what should or could have been done is more important .

i see lots of people complaining about their 5.somethings being low scored, but as a personal best on this site, i couldn't be happier!
