hi all,
i will be buying a Nikon D200 soon, Just surfing around looking for a decent price. If you know of anywhere give me a shot on PM or get me aon google talk

I was also looking at a couple of lenses including the 10.5 nikon fisheye. Anybody have any tales to tell on this as review and review shots seem to be hard to come by

Cheers

i'm not much use for prices ... especially in the UK. but i wanna say nice choice with the D200. i picked mine up a month ago and i still have a smile plastered to my face.

i've used the 10.5mm fisheye and it's an awesome lens, but i honestly think that fisheye lenses aren't a good purchase unless you've got the market to use them (such as skateboard photography). it's a very expensive lens to sit in your kit bag and be relegated to a rarely use lens.

perhaps the new tokina 10-17mm is a better choice. you don't have anything wider than 18mm in your kit currently. the tokina does fisheye and extreme wide angle ... it'll probably be my next lens! :)

great camera ... :)

Nikon D200 (Body Only) at B&H Photo is only $1340. They have some decent kit prices also. I trust them the most.

I have been to the store many times. The people there are great and their inventory and showroom is amazing.

Edit: Fixed link.

For ordering online, //www.pixmania.ie/ is recommended by a lot of people

If you're planning a trip to Dublin for this, I know there are plenty camera stores in town, but there's one in Dundrum Shopping Centre that's pretty good - I was talking to the guy in there at the weekend, he's pretty knowedgeable, and loves Nikon. They have the D200 there and a nice selection of lenses (can't remember the price offhand)

Buying from a shop in Dublin, expect to pay 50 to 100 euros over what you'd pay online. But then, you do get the camera into your hands instead of waiting for a delivery.

Sounds good - good feedback rating.

Watch for the delivery charges from HK... €104 on this one, plus the €43 for worldwide warranty brings it to €1304. And the possibility of getting hit for VAT on the way in. Although, I've never heard of anyone being this unlucky!

(Pixmania does body only for about €1400)

I was inspired to buy the 10.5mm/2.8 fisheye by this shot :

It is a seriously fun lens to have in your bag though it does suffer from noticable chromatic aberration (purple fringing).
