Yeah!! I'm finally the owner of a new Digital Nikon D80. After researching digital cameras, i found that the Nikon D80 was best for the kind of photography i want to take. I havent been out much to take many photos. Shot a few around the house, and the details are great!!
However, I do have one question. What is the best way to take a Photo of the sky at night? It's so pretty here and clear!!

I don't know the answer to your question...but it's interesting...I was looking at the D80's today and was torn between the D80 and D200. The D200 is a bit pricey though. If my wife lets me, I'll be getting a D80 |

Congrats! The D80 is fantastic and I love mine. I'm a bit of a novice but any evening / night shots need a tripod. Try using the timer and setting the shutter delay. I've just purchased a very cheap remote which is also excellent. Have fun! |

I'd set the camera up on a tripod, and maybe use a longer exposure to really get some good light in.
Though the Nikon guys would probably be able to be more specific.

I looked at both the d200 and d80 as well, I went for the d80 as I couldn't justify the extra money for what the d200 brough as for me this is something I do just for fun.
Haven't regreted it one bit, love my d80 :o)
As for night shots, depends on what you want to achive, long shutter delay and a tripod...
This was 73 seconds at f3.5
If you have a look at night shots in challenges you'll be able to see the shutter delay and aperture used, this is helpfull in finding what other people have done :o)
Have fun...
