Hello again,

Last night here in South Wales, UK, in a bid to get an entry in the Low Profile competition i headed out in the car and just drove around looking for subjects to photograph. Although by myself, i had a great time and will be doing the same tonight. This time i am looking for a road to the top of a mountain so i can get a good view of the towns below all lit up.

Is there any 'other' subjects that work well for night shooting and would serve as a bit practise for me. I got a full tank of petrol no timetable and am looking forward to the adventure.

I assume you mean the "Low Key" challenge ... well city/town lights could be good ...

IF you have a moon ... backlit super long exposures can be super ...

If you found a particularly beautiful tree (or anything) you could play with light painting with a flashlight (or what brits call a torch)

good luck ...

Partially cloudy skies around a full moon can be particularly attractive. Even better if it is windy. With a longish exposure you can get really interesting skies.

Well after driving around a bit i finally stopped and took a bunch of pics and stitched them together.

This is my first attempt at a panoramic. The only thing i have done to the image was reduce noise and use photoshop to stitch it together, otherwise its pretty much the way it came off the camera.

The original is 7831x1977 pixels and 80 megs.

This was a rush job so you will see a few imperfections, mainly to do with photoshop hacking the stitch together so will sort them out eventually.
