how can I calculate what that vote was? (just for the fun of it, I'm really bad with numbers)

[(PV x PS) + CS] / (PV + 1)
PV = previous number of votes
PS = previous score
CS = current score

I finished my initial rating of the Trees (I'll go back through later and bump some up a little probably) and I must say that this is the best challenge I've voted in to date. The first minimal editing challenge is what pushed me over the edge to join (see //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=537954)
Mine isn't scoring as well as I thought it would when I submitted, but after looking at all the photos I think it is ranked about right.
Only a few that I would consider "shoehorns" (didn't change my vote on them however) and no DNMC's that I could see.

After finishing voting last night, I went through the images in this challenge and mostly up updated the scores. Although a few scores were lowered due to closer examination.
My point is... your formula is only effective if voters don't revise earlier scores. |

Revised - sorry, too early
[(PV x PS) + LV] / (PV + 1) = CS
PV = previous number of votes
PS = previous score
LV = last vote (the variable you're solving for)
CS = current score
So it requires a smidge of algebraic solving, but it should work :-)
And no, it doesn't matter if someone goes back to revise their vote, because it changes both PS and CS proportionally, which still allows you to accurately solve for LV.
