there's not nessecarily a "cost". My son was born at 24 weeks,a little bigger than that. one pound even at birth, but he's a very smart boy. no lasting medical issues. Just wears glasses and he walks on his toes because the muscles in his legs are tight but that happenes with children born full weight as well. I for one owe everything to docotrs who didnt give up. even though they wanted to, and suggested it. it would have been a tragedy not to fight. he's not much of a willing model though so maybe there was some sort of damage...j/k |

here is a photo of our little buddy at 3 weeks. he was about the same size as the child in the article. and as my wife mentioned he doesn't really have any issues. my buddy KICKS ASS!
