Does anyone else want to stick a salad fork into the eyeballs of the people in those stupid commercials for awnings?

A man starts to talk about his wonderful awnings, and how the sun bothers him, blah blah blah, while his significant other stands there and blithers "Tell them about the discount, Harry!" in an increasingly annoyed/annoying voice until he finally breaks down and reveals the details of the discount.

My finger actually hurts from punching the "Off" button on my radio with such swift action when this commercial comes on.

Or does this commercial only air on my own personal radio 12 times an hour just as a way of creating my own personal hell?

Never heard it. Maybe it's local to your area (or it really is only playing on your radio!). ;P

Those would be the ones, although I purposely left out their name so as to avoid giving them free publicity :)

can't be as annoying as that old guy with the slipping dentures who does the "menard's" commercials.

or the guy who does the voice over for empire carpets ("588-23-hundred...EMPIIIIIIIRE!") who sounds like a creepy creepy child molester.

god bless npr.

Our market has the Empire commercials, too, but with a local phone number and apparently a different voice. The funny thing is that my 8-year-old daughter thinks the jingle ends with "and five!" instead of "emmmm-pire!" so she always sings it (loudly) with her own alternate ending.

While I'm thinking of annoying commercials, the word "Hoveround" comes to mind, too, with profoundly old people singing, "You maaaaade me loooove you..."

I reward annoying advertising with refusal to buy the advertised product. Take Sonic for example. I do not dislike Sonic's food. I will eat there occasionally, but I think some of their commercials for some of their products are annoying and stupid. So I don't buy that product. And when asked if I would like to try their "new flipnut burger" I respond with, "No because the advertising for it is stupid and annoying."

I am sure this makes no difference whatsoever to the CEO's of Sonic, or the bottom line of the company, but it makes me feel betterâ€Â¦like I'm stickin' it to the man.

I also love the advertising where someone says "samwich" instead of sandwich, or something equally silly or grammatically incorrect.

I love the Menard's guy, mostly because I do a mean impression of him that cracks my wife up every time.

Pretty much any commercial with that Billy Mays dork makes me crazy. Space Bag, Orange Plus, Oxy Clean etc.

The people I can't stand are the Gutter Helmet people. They used to call on the phone all the time, now we get inundated with flyers and direct mail. That's not to mention, should one of your neighbors give in and actually get gutter helmet installed on their house, the gutter helmet loonies go door to door trying to sell you on gutter helmet.
