I think he's smoking something. I very much doubt that Canon will dump EF. it's within reason that they might eventually jump into Medium Format, which would require a new lens mount, but whatever gets announced this year is almost certain to be EF-compatible. The one possibility is a mount that is a modification of EF, with backward compatibility through an adapter. If the physical needs drive them there, I could see them doing it. I wouldn't hold my breath, though. I believe this rumor is just that, rumor.

Edit: One thing I am fairly certain of, you'll see some heavy hitting from Canon this year, both on the consumer/prosumer end and on the pro end.

It may indeed be medium format. I would not discount that.

Be about time. The XTi was a good release. And so was the 5D. But I don't think Canon's had any other good releases in sometime.

n upgrades to pro-line.
a 20Dn upgrade that marketing thought to call the 30D. Which a mere couple of months was outclassed in many ways by it's cheaper little XTi brother.

Essentially, Canon's semi-pro users have been pretty much left out to dry.

The 1Ds II already outresolves a lot of lenses, especially at the edges (center is fine I think), 22mp would make that even worse. A new lens/mount design could make sense when it comes to that. Use something between the medium format and the 35 to create a large circle around the sensor, like now happens with FF lenses on crop cameras. That way you have no vignetting and using the optimal center to maximize the resolving power all across the sensor.
I wonder what Nikon will do with their mount, since they are also rumoured to bring out something FF in the 22-24mp range.

With the 5D it already has issues with vig in the corners with the 24-70 and the 70-200 f/2.8 L IS when at the 24 and 70 zoom. I believe that is the problem with the current lenses and mounts.
