| Went to the GGKC Dog show this past weekend with my family trying to get some good pics. The problem is that it's indoors with little light. When trying to use my Sigma DL 75-300mm 4-5.6 I had to use my SB-600 flash. It didn't work too bad but would rather use natural light. Thinking of selling some old equipment and getting some new glass. Which would work better? Sigma 70-200 2.8 or Nikon 70-300 VR. Also looking at the Tokina 12-24mm f4 Pro. What do you guys/gals think? |

the sigma, especially if your subjects are going to be moving.
VR is a nice feature, but if you're shooting people and such, they have to be standing still in orderfor it to help. And not to knock the nikon lens, but hte Sigma is one hell of a lens... |

anything with f2.8
Most recommended lens is Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR

| The Sigma is a great lens. Shoot at f2.8 and you should be fine for most situations. |

| If I win the Lottery, no problem. Outside of spending $1600, which of the other's would be the better bet? |

If you can't afford the Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR then look at the non-VR Nikon 80-200 2.8. You can normally find them used if you have to.
