Ok, with all the suggestions I got on my Reflection photo "Reflections on Chess", I decided to edit it up a bit. I got both great suggestions from DPC, Photosig, and in emails on the original, and put a few into play. If anyone is interested, you can check it out here. Reflections on Chess 2
Let me know what you think. ~Heather~ PS. I know it's not DPC legal, but thought I'd share anyway.

Heather, Is this a reshoot or an edit? Either way, my first reaction was "Wow" so I guess it works :) (at least for me)
I'm interested in how you got the reflection behind the far pieces... The knight in the reflection is facing the same direction as the real knight?!?
Off Topic : Congrats on that "Moderator" thingie under your name... I see it as proof that D & L know how to keep this site moving in a positive direction :) |

Thank you! It is an edit. I did have just the black background, but someone suggested that it needed more than JUST black, so I cloned them in. LOL. not too creative, but it added a little something extra. Thanks for the congras on the moderator thing. I was a bit surprised myself, but I'm having fun with it, and hope I'm doing well. Take care. ~Heather~

I like this version more, even if you did cheat :P
I think the black background really makes the board at reflections stand out much more.

Hello heather, I like it a lot .. a 'lot' more than the other .. I am not sure. One thing that 'bother' my eye is that ,now that there is no background and because it looks a little more 'set up', is the pieces 'missing' in the lower left corner and the 'empty' space in the lower right. It did not bother me that much in the original shot but now, like this it kind of 'jump' to my mind. Maybe because I am, or I was , a chess player. Did you do it on purpose not too have the reflection 'aligned' with the pieces on the back background ? THey do not look like they are aligned and some are missing. If yes I think it direct the eye a little too much in that specific area. Heather ... sorry if I sound 'nitpicky' .. I like the shot a lot ... but that that it's more 'perfect/controlled' and that the chessboard is more 'I do not know how to say it', those 'little' things really jump to my eye...
BUT ... this said .. .I like the shot a lot ... and I would have been VERY happy if that owuld have been me doing it !!!!!
Lionel
PS : ok not sure it's clear ... but to me now we are not saying anymore 'outdoor' or 'playing in the garden' or those kind of thing, so know my attention is attracted to the 'perfection' of the reflection and of the chessboard ... so .. my comments. Does it makes sense ?
PPS : But like I said .. I still really like the shot
