OK, let's try this. What was your worst challenge entry of 2006? Not necessarily your lowest scoring, but which image are you least proud of and why?

This is mine. To start off, it was a bad concept with little thought. Wasn't lit exceptionally well and composition is crap.

I can easily answer this one, I overkilled in post processing thie image that was in one of the free studies in the past year (Sept 2006)

Even though I thought it was cool, no one really cared for it. I should have entered in this Post processed shot of the same and I think I would have at least scored over 5, unlike the first shot which was a 4.8177

Live and learn not to go to far from the real photo in Post processing.

Really wanted to DQ myself on this one. Had better shots that month, what was I thinking....lol

This is mine, not my worst score but my least fav of any entry I had this year. This was the last time I listened to my wife about an entry.

What was I thinking? Oh yeah, I hate abstract! :P

this is the one I would least likely show someone.

When I took this shot, it was Halloween. The voting started a couple of days afterwards. This shot actually scared my girlfriend. It kinda disturbs me now too:

Strangely it still managed to get 2 favorites.

I don't think there is worst than this entry

//dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=373361

It was my beginning in photography and i don't know what were most challenges are about, and even the photo itself was a first test of my lens and the exposure and the subject were all crap.

... this is what happens when you're drunk and *think* it's a good shot ... LOL ... I knew when I woke up with a hangover that I'd made a HUGE mistake with this piece O' crap

I unsubmitted this one from the "Holy Places" challenge in favor of that mess of a fire shot above! Oh well ... learned that drinking and photography don't mix well in my world ...

Even it's not a greatest photo, it's a great capture. It's one in a million. Made me laugh. The cat's expression is priceless!

I don't really have one that i regret. I regret them all.
Last year i had 1 shot that scored over 6.
So this year i AM going to do better.

Kev

EDIT.
And i can't count. Forgot to count my highest ever scoring image which was last January.

The lowest scoring one, but so dear to my heart:

The low-score, a 'what was I thinking' kind:

This one was the one I was least proud of:

It wasn't my worst score, but I had such a nice concept for this one, but I failed to execute it miserably. Took the photograph poorly, and then processed it even more poorly.
It was a learning experience though.

I suck...

One of a whole pile of possibles.

You will be happy to know that an image like that just sold on Photographers Direct for $250.00.

Easy. I *never* should have entered a pj shot in a soft focus challenge, something bound to be full of portraits, macros, landscapes. A dark take on the subject was stuipid.

For the Naturally Framed challenge. Doesn't deserve nearly the score it got. I don't like this one at all.
01/26/2007 02:40:59 PM · #21
This one because I took what was a fairly interesting image and blew it by not noticing how low the contrast became after converting to B&W.

Thanks for creating this thread - it got me to look over my lowest scores and think about them. I decided that I actually got a lot of out of many of them, even if it was a list of things to avoid, like not rushing something just to get in.

But this one was just a dumb mistake.

This just don't work! :S
01/26/2007 02:42:05 PM · #23
4.8836 in a free study. :oP I seem to have bad luck with free studies...too damn many outstanding photos! Hehehe
01/26/2007 02:43:07 PM · #24

In the school days:chemistry challenge. It scored ok but it is one of the few pics in my challenge portfolio that highlights (or lowlights) my desire to enter any and every challenge. It is uninspired, blah and I really would not have minded not taking it. I have lower scoring images that I connect with way more than this one.

Didn't show the concept of geometry very well.
The hexagons were a very small part of the
image. That, among other photographic faults. ;)
