Lovely photos Louise! Thank you for your kind words and for stopping by to show me your corner of the world! :o)

My feelings go out for you. I lost my only brother to heart trouble in 02. He was my inspiration to try to be a better photographer.
Here are some pics that I shot today to share.
I know that it seems stunning for a while when you lose someone close, and then it hurts for a long time. In time the hurt will ease, and you will be able to enjoy your friends and loved ones again and become more involved with your hobbies and work. It seems to take forever, but with love and friends you will be able to move on with your life.

I could of probably gotten some better shots of the birds as you could get really close and they stayed perfectly still as well, but for some reason the size of the birds was upsetting my 6 year old daughter and she really wanted to get out of the aviary. Oh well. |
Wow, sounds very cool. I still remember a trip to Peru with my family when I was a kid, maybe about 10 or something, I don't recall exactly, and we went for a walk in the Amazon jungle and spotted a wild toucan perched on a tree... I was soooo excited!

For all those that don't know what the hell I am talking about here's a little idea...
I have really enjoyed this thread about where people live, its been fantastic seeing everyones images! From this I had an idea!
I asked a those who had already contributed to this thread if they would be willing to take a photo of their surroundings, with or without themselves in it, write a short message to me (e.g Hi Talj!) with their name somewhere on it and then email it over to me and allow me to print it and help me to make a 'Where in the World' wall in my kitchen!!
Anyone else who'd like to take part I'd love to see your images. Feel free to PM me or shout here in this thread and I will send you more details :o)
Thanks for reading :o)

Snapshots at Mom's place today. She is 92 now and still tends her own yard, lives alone, and takes care of herself well.
I hope that you are getting better with your fainting spells.
My wife has lupus, FMS and she is just getting over a bad round of the shingles on her cheek, and who knows what all else. We joke that she's been in the disease of the month club for the last 15 years, like the book of the month club, except that you get a new disease each month. She takes about 15 meds a day, and is on pain patches since about 01. She still manages to do what she wants to do, esp if it involves shopping.
Maybe you should try a shopping spree, and it may make you well for a few hours LOL. : )

Hi Natalya. First, are you aware of the "30 Day Where I Live Challenge"? That should give you plenty to enjoy.
I live just across the Potomac River from Washington, DC, in Arlington, Virginia, but I have only one pic of my neighborhood so far, and admittedly it doesn't show much:
But here are some pics I've taken around Washington, DC.
You mentioned being interested in NY. I don't live there, but I took many pictures when my family visited in November. Here are a few:

I am going to post some really nice shots of life in a medium sized town in central Belgium soon (big town ... small city) ... but I got SO much going on here and got so many contests / challenges I want to try to do good in and also want to spend some time with my neglected lovely wife that ... it might take a few days to gather then together and size them for here ... but I don't think I will forget ... and if I do ... do NOT be shy to send me a personal message poke in the ribs in 7 days if I have not yet ...
