My daughter brought me flowers (blooming weeds) out of the yard a couple days ago. We finally had our second 1" snowfall of the year last night, but its melted already. Usually by now we'd be getting 2-6" snowfalls once a week with two or three 10+" snowfalls by the end of the season. Sometimes we even get a 2-3 foot snowfall. I'm starting to doubt that we are going to have a winter this year in the Eastern USA. |

Yesterday it was 80+ here in LA, turned the a/c on. Today is chilly (for LA). Tomorrow night they're expecting snow (possibly) down to 1000 feet! I live at the base of the mountains at about 2000 feet elevation, so I'm hoping we get some. |

In Durango, I actually live about 32 miles north- it'll do for a reference point. They were prediciting a "normal" snowfall. Which means about 465 total inches. Our 10 year average is a little less than 300 inches a year- through the 70's and 80's average snowfall was about 520 inches in Silverton (46 miles north) and 460 inches at Purgatory (26 miles north). They're backing off on that prediction, but are still saying it will easily beat out the 10 year average.
The storm that slammed New Mexico was supposed to drop 18-24 inches on us and we got 1/4 inch.
I am just hoping we don't get the whole 465 inches in a week.

This is Victoria, just a few minutes ago :D
Yesterday I was taking shots of Becky-Lee getting drenched by waves coming over the seawall because of high winds. This is what they blew in! |

Here on the Eastern Seaboard, we have yet to have any snow this winter, and only a couple days have gone below freezing. Extraordinary... The crocuses think it is spring already, for heaven's sake... Bums me out. I was SO ready for some good winter photography.

I walked out of work at lunchtime today and noticed that most of the trees have buds on them, ready to start flowering. Spring is here. |

I noticed a few cherry blossoms downtown Monday... they'd look neat in the snow now. |

People, if these ideas are anywhere close to the truth, we need to educate ourselves, dontcha think?? Google search... weather manipulation, chemtrails and HAARP. I'm not saying I believe in these things either, but the facts are out there and if our governments are the cause of the crazy weather, we need to be aware.
*going back into my hole now* |
The government doesn't control the weather I do.
Note to self: Hurricane for NY
