I'm pretty happy with what I've shot so far. I'm very curious to the rest of the entries. :-)

Hmmmmm. . . Which to enter? Song titles, or B&W portrait? Well, I have no experience (or clue) with doing portraits, and there are 443 other entries in B&W. . . . Being the brilliant tactician that I am, I guess I'll enter the B&W Challenge. :) Wish me luck! |

Wow, we're up to 466. That should make it fun to vote on. Anyone feel like trying for 100% comments? :) |

I'm an idiot.
I've been looking for my 50mm 1.4 lens all week and can't find it anywhere. So I did a portrait shoot last night of my wife and while the photos are OK they just aren't the same with the 18-70mm lens. Sooooo much depth of field.
And then before heading to work today there I see the lens I've been looking for all week sitting on top of the bookshelf in full view.
At least I got to use my new umbrella reflector that I got for christmas.

Been there, done that. Only I do it with my car keys every morning and end up driving my truck to work instead. :)
So, I gather that using my 18-200 with direct 500W Halogen lighting and none of those reflector thingies might not have gotten me the best shot? |

Emboldened by the success of my "Environmental Portrait" and my "Dirt" portrait, I actually shot for this challenge. The results, unfortunately, were pitiable. I bailed and went to my fallback position in "Song Titles". I'll be watching from the sidelines :-)

Numbers are starting to rival a FS. Who knew black and white would have struck such a cord with the DPC community???

Every minute closer to rollover we get, the more nervous I get. I like my shot, but with 475 other entries, I'm worried. GueDesigns, I look forward to trying to figure out which is yours. I'm intrigued. :)
My new mantra: I will not unsubmit. I will not unsubmit. I will not unsubmit. |

The alternative being a topically hard challenge to shoot. Anyone can do a portrait and make it B&W. lol |

I am going to love voting on this one. DPC loooooves their black and whites and there will be some stunners. I'm in the Song Title one but I'm going to try to vote on all of them in this challenge.

Wow when I entered my first draft into this challenge it was @ 138 entries. Tells ya how bad 2006 was for music... lol
This is my first challenge in about 3 weeks after entering 60 in a row it was time to take a little break. But the update button missing from my home page was starting to eat away at my soul so I bought a new lens and have been shooting portraits all week. I am ready lets get this puppy started.

I dropped my little picture into the fish bowl a few days ago. Maybe it won't be squashed under the weight!
