The digg effect is in full force as

has made it to the front page of //www.digg.com.

Similar thing happened when the Balloons made it to //www.fark.com.

Yup, the site is really hosed up. The frigging google adlink crap is hanging up again. All that for a 5 year old image.

I don't suppose there's any way we can get a seperate Members-Only line to the server, that we don't have to share with the Farks and Diggs and everyone else? ;-)

We'll need to have professional help standing by when the craze ends - there's going to be DPC withdrawal victims everywhere. Myself included!

The server is getting hammered. Might be worth moving these jpg's onto an alternative host for a while (I don't know if this is possible, it might mean tailoring the image view PHP specifically for these image numbers)

I was thinking about that, actually. I know there are some services that provide the faster, better servers to their paying members and everyone else gets the slow crud. I suppose that's expensive and not necessarily worth it for DPC which really isn't all that slow except on rare occasions like this but it's still nice to think about. :)

Tried uploading a photo, but times out every time. Can't even view the Occu[ations results. I'm giving up and going to bed - hopefully the server will be in a better mood in the morning.....
