I brought home my first dSLR today!
It's an Olympus E-500.
I'm thrilled with it. I'm going to take my time getting to know what it can do.
I know what an opportunity it is to own fine equipment, and to belong to a community of talented photographers.
I'm determined to work hard to earn the privilege. |

Ooooh let me know what you learn about using this lol. I just got it too and have a LOT to learn - as this is my first type of SLR/DSLR ever.

No no no! Set it to Manual, Push buttons, turn knobs, click away, enter challenges, post "Why is this so blurry?", "Am I doing something wrong?" and "Should I just go back to P&S??" threads for a week or so, THEN read the manual. ;-)
Congrats on the new gear - you've assembled an impressive portfolio already - looking forward to seeing what you do now! (no pressure) ;-) |

I think I got a good deal, too.
I bought the camera (the dual lens kit), with a spare battery, 1 gig CF card and a great bag for less than $1100.00 Cdn.
Even if there are better deals out there...I was thrilled to be able to walk into the store, cash in hand, and walk out twenty minutes later ready to shoot.
I've been playing with it for a few hours now.
As soon as I figure out where the film goes, I'll take some pics. |

My first pic with the new camera...the first one I'd be comfortable sharing at least.
