Lots of PS3s around here - $950 or so is the asking price for the 60Gb model. 4 or 5 were in the paper this week in the want ads section. Some guy has a plywood sign in his front yard, asking $1000 - it was still there as of 3pm today. I guess no takers! |
I'm waiting till they come back in stock at the store...and I was right...got enough money.

I got $150 Amazon certificate, Deluxe annual passports to Disneyland (with parking), family membership to the LA Zoo, a really cool leg lamp just like the one from the movie "A Christmas Story", lot's of good stuff but no camera stuff. But then that's what I'll use my Amazon certificate for.
I got much more pleasure giving presents this year, I'm getting old I guess. I got my wife a nice Seiko watch, my Mom and Dad an 8" digital frame with a 1 gb card partially filled with 800x600 photos of family and Christmas music, my brother a really nice wool/cashmere 3/4 length coat, and my boy made out like a bandit with all sorts of cool stuff. |

My favorite lotions from Body Works. $150 to spend at the local camera store, studio lighting (portable) and the best of all was to help Bear/aka Robert and ShutterPug/aka Linda. |

I just put my order into B&H and am totally pumped. Each set of parents(mine are both divorced and remarried) are getting me an SB-600, a light stand and reflective umbrella and with the money I made over my christmas break I'll spend it on a commander sb-800 with stand and umbrella. Should have them at the end of the week and can't wait to try the setup out. |

I got stabbed for Christmas!
Yup, my wonderful son Troy stabbed me with his knife... in my left middle finger. Actually, it was my fault. He was helping me cut open a box and I reached where I shouldn't have. The tip of his knife poked the end of my finger. It bleeded like crazy until we put a Band-Aid on it. I didn't cry.
In the box he was helping me open was a Canon 85mm 1.8 lens, so that made it all better. He and his sister Shannon got it for me. They're great kids... when they're not stabbing me.
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas.
Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas :) I didn't ask Santa for much of anything in the realm of photography this year, but I did get the one thing I asked for (a book) and a couple other things as well. I wrote about those things in my blog (link in signature line below). I think the most useful thing I got for Christmas this year was a few new pairs of Levis. My mom looks after my fat ass quite well ;)

I FINALLY GOT PHOTOSHOP!!! Yipee!! It's the CS2, and wouldn't you know I'm getting it right when the CS3 is coming out w/all if the new RAW conversions...sigh. Aw, well beggers can't be choosers.
Also got 2 PS tutorials, batteries (for camera), photopaper, a macy's gift card, waayyyy too much chocolate, and a horribly ugly pink scarf complete with pom-poms on the end, ECH! Don't they know that I hate pink??
:)

Our main xmas present this year was a week in Tenerife (Canary Islands)from 11th to the 18th December, sunshine and doing very little!
Had some aftershave, a shoot-em-up PC game, chocolate, t-shirt.
Decided to buy myself a Fuji F30 after the hols with the money I will make from working over the holiday period. If anyone is thinking of a compact digital camera as a carry around this is the baby! It's also very good value - around £160 here in the U.K.
It was a great day as my daughter and grandchildren were over, it was magical watching Luke open his presents and helping us open our presents! Poor Declan was not too well bless him, he has a ear infection, he became worse as the day went on. My wife thought he had a bad throat infection as well and as he was having problems swallowing his drink etc my daughter took him to the hospital last night on the advice of a doctor she rang. He now has been checked out and does have a bad throat/ear infection so he is now on medication.
Luke Luke Luke
Poorly Declan Poorly Declan
