Are there any unique and experimental borders that you have used to 'frame' your pictures?

Last year I bought some holiday ribbon and lace and scanned it in for the purpose of using it as a border around one of my photos. After a year on my desktop needing to be finished I have finally posted it.

Anyone else have unique or experimental borders that they have used? Post your work and share your idea here.

Bump for the afternoon crowd.

No one else has unique or unusual borders?

I don't know if this is unique or unusual, but this border (imo) works well:

I used the edges of a piece of glass for the border here.

Although this style is not really all that unique, but the color used may help in the "uniqueness". Many times, I try to incorporate a similar color in a subtle border as what is in the image. Sometimes it may take away from the image, but usually I find it enhances it...

Just remember, DPC'ers tend to vote down fancy borders in challenges.
