10 minutes into Christmas eve here. Sort of a long story, but pretty cool. I was a brave little soldier this morning and went shopping at the mall. I have to give props to the people in the stores. They were not near as mean and ugly as the people out on the roads and in the parking lots. Absolute CAOS. I did feel the urge to run over a few toes with my shopping cart, But I kept the xmas spirit close to heart today and gave everyone a free pass to be ignorant foolheaded shoppers, I allowed them to cut in front of me at every chance and I never said a word. I let the meatheads block the isle with their carts while they stood between it and the shelf for 10 minutes looking at a toy that they ended up not buying anyway never said a word to them. Normally I would But xmas spirit. I stayed calm.
My non actions today provided some good Karma. I went to the checkout put all the items on the counter the kid working the cash register rang up my total I slid the card through the little box punched in my pin., It said validated the kid said merry xmas to me and winked. I thought it was kind of strange. I mentioned it to the lady that was saying merry xmas to everyone as they exited the store and she was handing out candy canes to the little kids that the guy behind that counter over there must have the xmas spirit (by spirit I meant boozed up) he is winking at people. She said that is Jeffery. He just found out today that he is being laid off and this was his last shift and that he was masking some serious anger. I guess I understood, But not til I got home and realised that when he rang up my stuff he only scanned in the first item which was a $6 bell I got for my daughters bike. Which is all that showed up my the reciept. I also purchased a My Little Pony castle that cost $60 2 CD's a couple of stuffed animals that were $14 each and a couple of books about $30 dollars and a few other things.
Total price of everything should have been about $180
All of it cost me 6 Dollars. No wonder he winked. He was giving the store away. I did the right thing and called the manager of the store. I explained to him what had happened. He said the only way he could charge me correctly is if I brought everything back to the store and have them scan it in. I told him that some of the stuff was already wrapped for xmas and the rest about to be., He then said well sir, being that it is the holidays. We are just going to pretend we didnt have this conversation so don't worry about it have a Merry Xmas and he hung up. So now I am going to brave the shopping fools again in the morning. I have an extra $200 to get myself a fisheye or cool accessory. in case anyone wonders what store this was at,. It was a Target.
Ok now for the reason I came in here in the first place.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all you DPC'ers

In a couple of hours (tonight) we are having a pre Xmas slap up turkey, pork and ham, with all the trimmings pre Xmas Dinner, at a friends house.
Tomorrow, we start the day here at our place, with two friends coming for breaky/brunch slap up breakfast, with all the works....
Quiet day together after that, just with Peter and I, so lots of family phone calls to our sons in Melbourne, and the rest of our family throughout Australia.
Xmas night, we have been invited to another friends place for Xmas tea/dinner.....
By then, after checking my emails, and this wonderful DPC site, I may then retire to bed exausted......
PS; Sometime during the day, we even may find time to open our presents under the Xmas tree..... Merry Xmas everyone, only seven hours to go now.....

Currently I'm drooling over what you're baking Charlie!
Tonight I'm sitting here u/l some photos I took today, wanna have a look at them. Got a new lens today to replace the 60mm EFS 2.8 I dropped yesturday *sniff, bawl* (it don't focus no more) Replacement is a cheaper one, but will be useful at work. 55-200 EF 4.5-5.6. I'll upload a couple here later. Oh an wrap the presents tonight later. Cos I haven't got children Christmas present giving tends to be fairly low key.
Tomorrow.......into the SPCA where a group of us are feeding and cleaning out the animals, then joining up with sister-in-law and going to a friend's for late lunch. Then we'll take the dogs out for a walk, head off to S-I-L for dinner. (Why do we overeat so much!!)

Hehe ....Bailey helps wrap (or should I say unwrap) them all. She loves presents LOL
As to the lens......can't blame anyone but myself. I was tired and careless. Going to enjoy playing round with this new one, for me it's a very useful focal length.
It'll do for now.............. ;) maybe next year it'll be an L lens

Well...it is getting dark here and the children are getting ready for bed. We had sticky chicken wings for dinner but not before meeting the parade out on the streets. All the emergency services put on a big parade on Christmas eve and they travel the streets with sirens blaring and throwing lollies and balloons to the children, right across town...even Santa joins in.
All my baking is done....white xmas, tim tam slice, caramels and a big batch of rum truffles. The Tiger Prawns are peeled and the cob loaves are waiting for the stuffing tomorrow. We are all heading over to Riccos for Xmas Day...with lots of seafood, roasts, BBQ and of course swimming. Apparently they have already got the ingredients for some cocktails...hehehehehe!! Oh...and loads of beer...it wouldn't be an Aussie Xmas without the beer.
But before I can do that I have to stuff the childrens stockings and wrap some pressies. Santa can't do it all, you know...he just leaves some of it here for me to do....lol!!
By tomorrow night I should be tired, full and sunburnt. I can't wait.
