Is there ANYway that you can delete old challenge entries?

I hope there isn't...

If that was possible the challenge history would be worth nothing...

nope, the challenge entries stay. Its all a part of history that is written and cannot be unwritten!

I am not sc, but, if someone had a picture of a person, and for wahtever reason, that person didn't want their picture displayed, couldn't the photographer ask for a self dq? I think there have been cases of something like that happening in the past. Not that a person could ask that ALL their entries be deleted. Just if it's a sensitive issue thing.

I had that situation; I totally blow the shot of a young co-worker, I had it DQed during the challenge. Not sure about after the challenge results have been posted.

Self dqs I do not believe result in the images removal, however at least one time I do recall an image disapearing upon request.

Self-DQ's do result in the image's removal, but can only be requested during the relevant challenge.

As a matter of policy, we do not remove old challenge entries, as we believe it is in the best interest of the community as a whole to maintain a stable archive of the challenge results. While exceptions have been granted, they are exceedingly rare (I can count them on one hand), and have only been granted as a last resort in the most unusual of circumstances.

As just one possible scenario, you took a photo of some person, entered it in a challenge, the person has now seen the image posted in public and demands its removal, and you don't want to fight this.

I remember one where a storefront was in the photo, and the store found themselves on a Google search and wanted it gone.

someone's girlfriend is complaining that an image of the ex is posted? (it's why they might want to do that, not necessarily a reason to go ahead and do it)

So how would I go about making a request to get a picture deleted?

Go to the Help Menu > Contact Us and fill out a Ticket explaining your situation and request. One or more SC members will respond by PM/email.

Go here, select "DPChallenge - General Inquiry" and fillin your request. Just understand up front that such requests are rarely granted.

What about *hiding* the image? Is there a way to do that? It'd keep the integrity of the challenges intact, but you just wouldn't be able to see it.

If the request was granted, that's how we would handle it, but again, it's very rare that we would do it.
