Okay, an obscere Header, I admit :)

Im looking to get a new cell phone and for the price/feature list I am leaning towards the Nokia 2865i - It's a (non-flip phone/ hence the candy bar reference), just wondering if anyone has any experience with this phone or similar models..

Heres a linky
phone

Don't ask me, I can't hear. But if I COULD hear I'd sure prefer a phone that didn't flip (they look silly & fragile to me), and wouldn't turn my back on one that looked like a candy bar :-)

Get this tiny little baby! It comes with lipstick. Your color, too, I might add.

I have a flip type cell phone and I would never get a non flip type, some of my friends have that type and the screen gets really scratched up really fast. Just something to think about.

I've been doing a bit of research lately and I'm looking at possibly getting the Motorola RAZR for myself. I much prefer the flip type because the non flip type I find too small and I have a tendency of moving the phone from my ear to my mouth and back again when I'm having a conversation (guess I'm more used to a regular sized phone). The RAZR fits me perfectly when flipped open and has more than enough features for what I'd need. I can get it for $49CAN with a 3 year plan so it's fairly reasonable, though I'm not sure what features or price range you're looking for.

Good luck in your quest for the perfect phone :)

I have the LG VX9800 or "The V". It has a qwerty keyboard on the inside. It's a picture phone, mp3 player, Nav system and much more all in one. I LOVE IT I will never go back to a regular phone. from now on I have to have the key pad.

Hi Buzz, I love my candy-bar phone, but it won't work with those cell services the one you posted will.

I've always had candy-bar phones and not had trouble with scratched screens. The main advantage of a candy bar phone is that 99 times out of 100 you'll get more battery life...the battery is almost always larger (no need to make room for a hinge) and therefore gives you more talk/Internet time. The main disadvantage is that you do have use the keypad lock feature to avoid inadvertently making a call.

With a non-flip phone I tended to dial random numbers while it was in my pocket, and found the keylock function to be a pain in the neck when I had to make calls. Flip all the way!

What? You mean the lipstick isn't built right in? That sucks! Now I have to carry a phone AND lipstick seperately? ;P
