70s British progressive rock band, very trippy, did the movie The Wall (cult classic) with album by the same name. Can hear them on virtually any classic rock station. Lots of soaring wailing vocals. I'm not a fan personally though I do like their song about flying. |

I'm probably not going to be in any challenges that are up for submission at this point. Can't do much in the way of setup shots, still, and HOPEFULLY will get to sign for an apartment lease tomorrow and start the moving process. My stuff doesn't actually arrive until Tuesday (so let's REALLY hope I get an apartment or I have to start all over again and my stuff goes into storage...) and I don't know when I'll get internet access after that. But I'll be checkin' in on you guys and see what you're up to.
And on that note - GO bryantbus!!!! Way to kick butt and take names and totally do us proud! |

I hit 5 with my Dirt shot!
I've been voting and commenting on Pet Portrait. If I have left any fellow suckers (suckees?) a negative comment I hope it hasn't upset you too mcuh. There are some great entries and some that are just not portraits IMO. Same goes for For Sale--some just don't seem to be items that are actually for sale or a place to buy things. (Sorry, but I am somewhat of a DNMC nazi)

Well, that's my plan is the place with the basement, but given bureaucracy and all, it had to be "inspected" to make sure it meets standards, and that happened this morning. With luck, it passed, and I can sign for it tomorrow. If THAT falls through, I'm kinda screwed. So I'm thinking positive thoughts....
Oh, and yes, the kitties are with me and are getting pretty tired of hotel life, too.

Nope, I love'em too. I've seen them twice in concert (or maybe it was 3 times, but's it's all a little hazy). I have a great shot in mind, but need hubby to pull it off. It would be easier if it was advanced editing. |

Funny you mentioned needing your hubby for your shot...I plan to use mine as well. Hopefully we don't have the same idea :-) I'm actually looking forward to seeing what people come up with in basic on this, though I know it will probably kill my scores. I'm just not yet a very good technical photographer - don't have enough experience. |

It's probably accurate, what you say, but NB Syd Barret, the primus motor of the Pink Floyd, was already incapable of playing any constructive part in performing, etc by 1970. The Beatles were still together and Jimi Hendrix was still alive when Arnold Lane was in the charts. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn copyright 1967 EMI records. Like I said, though, your observations are probably an accurate assessment of what the name evokes to those who weren't there. Early tracks would get raised eyebrows from dpc voters, but they might go down well with the sucking fringe :)
I was so eager to put something in the sky challenge that I entered a brown ribbon candidate with no time to redo enough to make a difference...
