I was wondering this because the photos are being resized/cropped down to a manageable size for the site. When people do this are they sending the EXIF data as well or are they doing all the resizing in a EXIF friendly app?

I know there are apps to export EXIF data, is that being done and then submitted with the photo?

I dont know why I am asking its not like I have been able to come up with an original idea for stop motion or transistion.

The EXIF data does not stay with a JPG file when it is edited... it's only in the original file.. you can RENAME a file without losing EXIF data but modifications will strip it out, so keep a copy of your original...

Yes, you should keep a copy of your original -- but jmsetzler's response isn't entirely right. Some programs keep the EXIF data when editing, while others don't.

Photoshop 6.0+ keeps the exif data around, as does ACDSee 3.0+
