Working on getting better lighting for product shots.

Looking for suggestions on ways to improve the lighting or setup to take it to the next level. Lit with two flashes, one either side through tracing paper for diffusion. I'm thinking the background lighting could be more interesting rather than so seamless. Comments & suggestions really welcome.

Try the flashes bounced off some white foamcore panels from the sides to get a wider light reflection into the blue bezel and show more blue. The watch face itself seems to have a reflection (maybe a white ceiling?) that washes out the lcd display a bit. Get some black foamcore or a black cloth "flag" directly above the watch to cut out the reflection. Not sure if that will help or even what your looking for, just my 2 bits.

Thanks. You pretty much described the lighting setup that was used ;) The side panels are about as big as they can be to the subject, though instead of bounce they are diffused light sources. Would bounced light give more diffusion than sources that are 5 times the height of the watch, diffused right up close ? (about 2 inches away on each side.

The top was actually white board though, because I found the display too dark without any light in it - I'd used the white board to bounce some fill into the display.

This is how it looks 'bare' here, with overhead lighting and more shadow/ darker display.
