o, no, svetlana, that just sucks. keep on posting, won't you? i'm really enjoying your work, and i love your titles. i managed to be DQed twice in quick succession, but it is possible to come back from it.
so, come back with a vengance in the new year, but keep posting your shots throughout, won't you?

JuliBoc made an adjustment to one of my pictures that I thought was really neat. I guess I didn't know about that filter. She was worried that she may have taken too many liberties with my art (That sounds wierd "My art").
I had no problem with that at all. I told her in the comments that if she ever wanted an original to try something with, she is more than welcome. The same goes with any other suck members. If someone sees that I could have done something different with one of my shots and they would like to show me, PLEASE let me know. I will be happy to oblige.

Not much danger of that.

We could do some thing on the side to keep Svetlana,in ... how about a side challenge. Humm what do you think, about "take a photo in the style of your favorite team sucker". We can make a new thread (or stick it all in this one for the fun of it). Not sure how the side challenges work?

| I've been making a very sad stab at studio lighting (about which I know absolutely nothing) for dirt. The results thus far are too heinous to enter, even for me. A stretch, I realize, but even us suckers gotta have some standards, right? |

Not to take away from sympathy for Svetlana, but I'm pretty excited about my life entry. It's been climbing bit by teeny little bit, and is now within striking distance of a 6.0 :)

one of my comments is actually "this is a pretty cheap shot".
don't know what to think of that. are they implying that the picture itself is inexpensive or are they saying that i took a picture that in some way was hitting below the metaphoric belt.
this picture would probably have been the best picture i ever took if only it was in focus.
i promise to learn to focus better and take even more pictures that generate even more ignorant comments such as this. |

funny... one of the best new photographers on team suck has been DQed...
i think it's "the man" trying to keep team suck down.
i look forward to your return to the challenges silver. i'm sorry that they hate the way they do but when you're that good you should expect it. |

Good question. It would strike me as a little odd that someone would vote on a subject like "DEATH" and not expect to see at least a few dead things and some things that push the boundaries on what might be tasteful/humourous/whatever.
But yeah, if you don't like the comment just ignore it. |

yeah... but there's nothing "actually" dead in the picture. i went into the city knowing what subject matter i was looking for and this shot fell right in front of me.
i have been kicking myself half to death for not getting it in focus since i submitted it.
i wont say anymore about the shot because i dont want a DQ but i will say this.
it's a shame that there's only a button for "i find this comment helpful" and not one for "i find this commenter to be a gormless moron"

I think you just pressed that button. When Bruno Ganz spoke of the problems he had in immersing himself in the role of Adolf Hitler, he said something along the lines of: "genocidal megalomaniacs are people, too". I think maybe the same could be said of gormless morons and after all, they (we?) need protection.
Editing to add, sickdog, that as this thread and community enables expressions of indignation etc, I'm feeling for you and I totally agree :)
