The commenters have finally come out for LOW. To paraphrase one of them, they were after more saturation, it seemed. Which, to me, would defeat the point of a "light" set of colours.

Up to 4.4 overnight.

i still have nothing for diagnal or last words. i can't keep doing buildings forever so i think i'm gonna work on last words tomorrow morning.

i love the slogan too. i'd wear that shirt.

Just put the slogan in your signature. :)

Yes, but they all want to say the same thing. LOL.

No comments yet for me in LOW. Maybe Mark Simms hasn't seen it yet. He'll surely tell me why it sucks.

My diagonal entry is a real gamble. I reckon it could be one of those brown contenders that noone gets. gnarg. 1 day to go. Maybe I should ditch it now. *flibble*

I think my diagonal entry could challenge yours for the brown ribbon!

LOL!! Now that's just too damn funny. :-)

And bryantbus, that's not a suck score you got going in Light on White - you seem to be good at those!! (Meaning the light on white challenges, since you have one in your top row.)

I vote this the Team Suck motto and suggest we all get T-shirts.

Hey, we have another contender for the brown ribbon in diagonal - mine!

Hey, on a different line of "share photos with each other" apart from "commiserate on sucky scores," I thought I'd share a couple of collections with all of you. I know some of you have seen and commented on some of these already, but I'm just really tickled by these shots. :)

NYC
Architecture

Now, back to the commiserating line. I'm doing fine in LOW. I like it, but it's not, say, the winning postcard kind of "WOW." :)

I decided that my original famous last words idea (Sure, I can handle another drink before I drive home) wasn't going to work, so tonight I hope to shoot my 2nd or 3rd idea. Given the more than 3:1 ratio of diagonal entries to that one, I'd love to be in the smaller challenge.

Besides, taking the "challenge" concept in the best sense of pushing ourselves to try new stuff, many of my shots already have diagonal compositions.

Jeff,
I just looked at your new collections. I especially like the architectural shots. The "round and round" photo with the cascading chandalier is spectacular! Great work!

which challenges get put together to calculate team suck results?

will my perspective shot going to go with skewsme's and mist's postcard shots?

wow so entropy actually has three contestants in this next one!

i'm holding a 5.97 in perspective with only three comments. i can't seem to get that .03 to put me over 6.
11/28/2006 04:19:42 PM · #1269
Hang in there - they sometimes go up at rollover. Then again, they sometimes go down, too. Still a damn fine score, though!

Hooray! I got about a 0.04 bump at the end of postcard, so maybe you'll get it. :)

The vote scrubber takes out votes from anyone who didn't vote on at least 20% of the entries, so you lose some votes. If they're below the average score, your average goes up, and vice versa. There's also some scrubbing of people who vote abnormally low, but I'm betting that almost the entire scrub is the less than 20% crowd.

I usually do an update around 11:55 and then leave that window open to compare the # of votes and score with what comes up in another window after rollover. I'm always awake anyway. :)

thank you. my currant highest score is 5.69 so i'm jazzed in any case.
more often than not recently they have gone up in the end. i'm just glad to see team entropy will be able to throw it's hat in the ring this round.

i've just entered my fiance's picture and i'm about to get something in for diagnal and start voting.

I'm about to enter something good in diagonal, so that ought to put me back down where I belong...

It looks like this is going to be my 3rd highest score. Too bad because, like Xianart, it's not one I want on my front page.

Update: Someone (identity hidden) just gave me a '1', knocking the average down to 5.2841, and left a very trolly comment, "no comment". I'll be very interested to find out who it was.
