That is definately different. I like the left side of the tree. The black trunk (if that is a tree) is way to dominating of the scene. I also don't care for the black specks all over the image.
I like the diffused colors and silhouette of the butterfly and grass.
You might want to try to cut the left side and stitch it to the right side so the butterfly isn't up against the edge.

This summer we had a butterfly follow us every where. We were touring Northern Ireland to different places that were significant to her family. She believed that the butterfly was her grandmother reincarnated to share in the tour.
My picture is similar to yours in that they both have a butterfly against a window trying to get out. They also suffer from dirty windows. =(
One thing I would say is that your butterfly is quite centered and small in the picture. If the butterfly was positioned differently in the frame and a little bigger the silhouette effect would be more dramatic. (Come to think of it my butterfly could use some repositioning too). Great idea though Giorgio!

Not a bad idea, not bad at all. :) |

That image might also make a better desktop with the same kind of cropping.
I'm realizing that I don't like the right half of the photo beyond the black bar, heh. I think it distracts and takes away from the subtlety of the moth/butterfly. With the right half of the photo the framing seems off. |

George, on the first one impage you posted, I do notice what appears to be sensor dust, yes? I'm referring to all those small black specks throughout the image.

My eye was drawn to the middle line, and not the bug. I know it is a bug, but don't really care for it because the color outside is more interesting. If the bug had color, and detail, I might want to care more for it, but that line sucks my eye right to it.
The other pane of glass doesn't help either. Forcing me to look in that direction as well. I now have to ask this question...What am I supposed to look at?
It may be differant, and when you become expert at this experiment, maybe by then the viewer will care more for the bug, and less confused on what to look at.
What Aliqui did made more sense in even the minorist adjustments.
IMHO.
