This is what I posted in the Mpix forums:
I put in a large order of various sized prints to. All of my 8x10's and wallets came out perfect. BUT, I have 45 4x5's and 5x7's that came out pink. I now have 45 prints that I can't do a dang thing with. These are orders that were promised for delivery on Friday and I can't deliver them now.
I emailed customer service and I was told that since I choose "do not color correct" that they can't reprint them. When I explained that my other prints were fine, I was told I can send the prints back to mpix and they will check if it was a printer error and then reprint them as a "courtesy this time".
I'm sorry, but I don't have the time to send these back to mpix and wait until they see if it was an error on their behalf. Nor, do I feel I should have to pay to send back prints that Mpix messed up. It wasn't my error and now, I have to find somewhere else to get these printed so I can have them in time for delivery, not too mention pay for these prints again.
I have been a loyal Mpix user for 2 years now, and when I really need them... they leave me screwed.
I'm sorry, but I have a business to run and I run a very tight business... This only makes me look bad to my clients.
I will not put my well established business on the line. Mpix, you have just lost a good and loyal customer.
With that said, who do you guys use for printing? I don't want to raise my prices again, so I am hoping to find a place that is comparable in prices to Mpix.
Oohhh.... I'm so pissed right now!

I hate to sound like a commercial, but dpcprints has always done well for me.
Adorama has always produced high quality for me as well, and in a decent time frame.
Can't comment on the price comparisons though |

Mpix is my favorite quality. EZPrints is ok...their glossy is really nice but their matte is kinda dull, IMO. Dull as in the colors seem blah.

bayphoto is my favorite. any order over $12 shipping is $1.50 for two day UPS. Quality is great. I wouldn't print anywhere else. Customer service is above and beyond as well. YOu could probably tell tehm what happened w/ mpix and they might rush your order and dropship it if you want. |

Like I said, I have been using them for 2 years now and I love their quality... but leaving me with this many prints that I have to have redone when it's clearly their mistake doesn't make me happy.

Mpix is a consumer based printing service. It is actually a spin-off of another company, which is a professional printing service designed to cater to needs of professional photographers such as yourself.
Miller's Professional Imaging
I would suggest giving them a try. It's not that Mpix has bad customer serivce. It's just that they aren't really designed to cater to professional photographers.

I'm new with Mpix and like their great offering of sizes, etc. But honestly, I'm with Karmat - DPCPrints does great. They cropped the edges off a big batch I did a while back for a client, and they worked with me until we got it all figured out, and reprinted the whole order for me. The customer service was GREAT, and I have always been happy with their quality and prices.
Their only downside is the interface and ordering process is cumbersome, but if enough of us mention it to Langdon, maybe he'll upgrade it ;-)

I would be really upset as well. I understand your reasoning for switching. I will say that having SmugMug has made the whole ordering process MUCH easier and I've made more money. It's nice because not only does my customer order prints, but so does their family!
Oh, and case you didn't know, EZPrints does the printing for SmugMug and DCPrints

Smugmug has replied to and fixed any glitch immediately for me. No charge to me or customers. Some of the best customer service in ANY business, IMHO. I've sold around $6K worth of prints through them, so I'm reporting about decent volume--mostly event and ranch call prints. |
