I am not sure how I am going to vote on this myself. I don't think I'll mark down for how the text is presented (if its a little jaggy etc.) I am also wondering if I should mark down for entries that have no text that could use it. What are your guys thoughts on the text part? (Since its not something that we are normally allowed to do).
Anyways...this is going to be tough to vote on. There's lot of good shots in this one. |

Why would you vote an entry down because it doesn't have text? The submission guidelines don't require text and not all postcards have text. I've seen a few entries which, imnsho, have the text too large, and I've commented on it, but I haven't marked any down because they do or don't have text.
You're right. There are a lot of good shots here.

I have just viewed one of the very "BEST" images I have ever seen at DPC.
Gee, we have some excellent images in this challenge, and I wish I hadn't entered mine now.

Good point, Germaine. This was exactly the feedback I was looking for. I mean we all vote our own way with our criteria in mind. I just don't didn't want to be too far off the norm. (Checking back on other challenges, I am usually within 1 and most 2 points of what the average vote is on a given image...too bad I couldn't use that ability for my own shots.)

I find it difficult to vote in this challenge. I do not vote the shots down if text is lacking. I very seldom buy postcards with text on the front, it is inevitably going to be on the back. I often bring my Selphy with my when I am travelling, simply because there are so many ugly postcards out there :) and friends and family love getting to see exactly were I was.
There are truly many good shots in this challenge, too bad so many of them have text that is IMO badly placed and/or in a colour that ruins the rest.
Untill now, I have voted thinking: how does this looks as a postcard...
No text makes no difference, ugly or badly placed text does make a difference, but absolutely nothing drastic pointwise.
