This is the first time this has happened, but for the last couple of days -- both on my computer at work and the one at home -- some of the entries (and winners) on this website aren't shown as photos unless I click on the actual title.

I just did some judging in the Complimentary Color challenge, so I didn't notice anything missing when I first went into the Challenge page, but after looking at each entry individually, when I went back to put in comments, 13 of the 82 photos just don't show up! Sonifo's "Lean on Me" isn't showing up on my home page. The ribbon's there. The name's there. The title's there. But not the photo.

Has anyone else been having this problem the last few days?

What happens if you right click where the image is supposed to be and press "Show Picture" ?

Or do a Ctrl+Refresh to clear your cache?

Thanks for the suggestions, Konador.

The problem went away at work today, but not at home. I have XP on both computers, and both use high speed modems. At home I run a virus scan every morning and have a firewall, so I don't think I could have caught a bug, though I suppose it's possible.

Control-Refresh does nothing; I don't get an option to "show picture" when I click where the picture should be, just the standard list of things like "Save Background As," "Set as Background," etc., and I get that list anywhere on the screen.

I can get the picture when I click on the title -- it's just the thumbnail that doesn't show on some of the entries.

Any other thoughts?

I would have tried loading DPC on another web browser to confirm it it is a website/connection problem or a browser problem.

It's not the browser as far as I can tell -- I use Explorer 6.0, so I downloaded Netscape and tried it on that.

I disconnected and reconnected my cable modem. That didn't help.

Guess the next step (and the last one) is to call Cox and see what they have to say.

Thanks, guys.

Some things to consider

Did it happen for Netscape and IE ?

If so, it is probably your firewall settings, particularly if you have things set up to block images from other sites or blocking cookies.

If it only happened with one browser, it is worth trying to flush your cache, and click ctrl+refresh on the page.
