As fate would have it, a few of the DPC crowd, including our illustrious leader, found themselves in Las Vegas in early November.
Langdon, scarbrd (David), alfresco (JP), and signal2noise (Tommy)
Tommy and I are colleagues and friends.
JP, Tommy and I went out the first night. JP (alfresco) was fun to hang out with. It's great going around with other photographers that understand the need to stop every 15 feet to take the same shot from 4 or 5 different angles. Non photo people do not get this.
On the second night Tommy and I met up with Langdon.
Let me tell you something about Langdon. I hope I'm not shattering anyone's mythical image of the founder of DPC, but I feel I must be honest.
This guy is a loser! Take away all that talent, ambition, looks and that annoying "nice guy" attitude and what are you left with????
At least he's tall. Maybe he can make something of that. ;-)
Seriously, Langdon is a great guy. We had a blast cruising the strip.
For those that haven't put 2 and 2 together yet, yes, it is just a coincidence that I won my first ribbon in the Neon challenge after a night in Vegas with Langdon. Conspiracy theorists should have a field day with this!!
Any CSI fans out there? Thanks to TIVO, I didn't watch the episode were tourists were getting beat to death up and down the strip until AFTER I got back. So here's Langdon, Tommy and me walking around with our camera gear stopping every 50 yards or so, setting up tripods, changing lenses, etc. up and down the Vegas strip.
Here are some more images and outtakes form the Neon challenge
Enjoy!

Yes yes -- our little coincidence. By the way, I'll be putting the extra money towards a PlayStation 3 on Friday. ;)

I hope this little arrangement doesn't affect previous arrangements made with Digital Photography Action Committees (D-PACs) from other areas.
The Oregon Coast Photographers Association (OCPA) would like a private email assuring us our standard two ribbons a month are still going to occur. Thomas (Zoomdak) is particularly agitated and is threatening to put a dead Seagull in your bed tonight.

Joey will be around later to take a picture of the seagull, to ensure that the Canuck Photographers Association (CPA) continue to acquire their usual ribbon cache.

Thanks JP. Here's one I forgot to post. Taken from the observation deck at the Stratospher
Watch CSI, most of the skyline shots are probabaly taken from here. When we walked into the building they made us check our tripods at the bell desk. You can take a camera to the top, but not a tripod. Strange.
