Well, the fact that I'm off a bit is pretty much a given. But this refers to the fact that I'm about to unplug and go return my modem to my internet service provider. Still have to clean the stuff out of the fridge, run a couple of errands (Goodwill loves me), then throw the cats in the car and it's off to Dallas. Hopefully the hotel there will have internet access...
Then Wednesday, it's fly to Germany. That takes all day and all night, more or less, so I'll be in Germany on Thursday. With luck, the hotel there will have access too.
Mean time I'm sucking with gusto on current challenges and have one going in tonight in Spots. I just don't know when to give up... :-)

wow, you make moving to Germany sound as simple as going away for spring break!

| Hey can I come and visit? I haven't seen mein homeland since I was 3.5...*sniff, sniff* ;-) and it is kinda close to Iceland, innit? |

| Funny, since the Team Suck league began, my scores have gone down! Practice is not making perfect for me. Oh, well, I console myself with the fact that I have fun taking and processing my entries, as well as voting and using the forums. Wouldn't mind a really high 6 or low 7, but that may never happen. |

how does one go about joining this team? i have taken a number of pictures and people have assured me that a lot of them do, in fact, suck.
to paraphrase todd snider, "I knew what they meant when they said that they sucked but they wanted to go on about it... so they did."

The Hoovers are a special case. But then again, Team Novice is a special case, too. Hell, we're probably all special cases. Okay,  sickdog you can join Team Novice if you write an essay or poem of 500 words or less on any of the following topics:
a) why you suck
b) why sucking is good
c) what sucking means to you

i tried to use meatyard for tributes and it did turn out...
as for my 500 word essay on joining team suck, i've whittled it down to a haiku.
My pictures suck ass
You can learn by sucking bad
I want to suck worse
speaking of sucking worse, I'm off to a bar now to shoot an idea for Spots. i'm going to be blasted for not meeting the challenge but then I already know I suck so i have nothing to lose. |

I'm thinkin' the new guy is gonna fit right in. And I haven't even looked to see if he truly sucks - he just has a good attitude about it all.
So on paper this whole "go to Dallas so I only have to get on one plane with the cats" seemed like a good idea. In practice, it's exhausting. Part of that could be the taking out the mounds of stuff I couldn't pack or give away, doing a bunch of last minute errands and account-stopping, and the lovely drive, which really was lovely, just long. Especially when Sir Thomas feels compelled to talk the whole way.
But we're here (in Dallas) and I still have to attempt to repack suitcases to get a few more things in or they'll be treasures for the room cleaning crew.
Oh, and I still suck - 5.1 in Neon and B&W, and 4.6(!) in HDR. If my Spots entry doesn't score about a 5.5 or better, I'm suing the voters. |

Hello, Fellow Suckers!
Well, my first image to ever hold steady around 6.0 just got DQ'd! I evidently didn't understand the HDR rules properly, which isn't too surprising given that I only took a perfunctory glance at them. My bad.
But still...(string of curse words)...okay, moving on.
My B&W looked promising around 6.2 but has declined to 5.8. Hope this downward trend does not continue. But then again, there is always glory in sucking :-) |

i've shot my lousy "spot" pic. i am going to shoot my lousy "headwear" pic in a minute and pick between the two.
i'm not that well versed in the rules here. can you enter in more than one contest when you have a membership?
i'm going to put my money down to become a member tonight and would like to enter my crap into every contest i can. |

You can enter only one challenge in the Exclusive Opens. This means you can enter a spot photograph or headwear photograph but not both.
We may consider ourselves sucky but probably not lousy or crapy. |

I'm in B&W and holding onto about 5.3.
I just entered spots.
And I have my first candidate for the Nov. free study.
I keep bouncing between 5+ and 4+. Sure would be nice to rediscover how to get 6+!
