Simple and effective site. I have to admit, though, that I hate seeing a copyright splashed across an image, as it can really ruin the effect. All images are your automatic "property" in the eyes of the law (as long as you can later offer up proof of that). If you're worried about people forgetting, and borrowing the image, then you might just place a reminder on the html - but not the picture.
Just my opinion, of course,

Thanks Martin for your feedback. I struggled long and hard with the decision to put the copyright statements on the photos or not. In the end, it was something I felt I had to do.

Nice site. There's a lot of text on the pages, which some may not like. BUT, being on dial up, it loads quickly, which is a bigger plus than the text is a negative. I like that you have used quick loading thumbnails as well, which gives me more time to decide what I want to look at.

Thanks Karmat - I'll do some more work on the "text" pages to make them more interesting.

On your Home page, I think "Views by Linda" is too small. You need more empasis on your title. the fancy logo on the upper right is too easy to overlook. Because the fancy lettering is light, it doesn't caryy as much eight at the lettering of the titles and the eye overlooks it at first. Make your logo bigger! Also in the first title How Views by Linda Began - that reads really oddly if you have missed the logo. Can you change the font in the middle of a title. How (Views by Linda in fancy font) Began. I just think you need to be BOLDER with your logo - Brag a little, hey, brag a lot, the point is to get noticed! You look good. |

Some feedback:
I'm not a big fan of pages that enforce page widths, when I maximise my browser, I want the text to reflow so that I dont have to scroll so much.
'You are visiting:' is redundant.
The alt texts on the 'accu-write' etc buttons should be alot more descriptive, and not use the acronym or redundant words like 'Home Page'. Something like 'Sessions.edu - My web design certificate program homework. Completed assignments.'
'My delicious pets' needs recipes. I love grilled hamster.
The photos are 400x300, Id prefer to see at least 640 wide, even as big as 1024x768, for use as wallpaper.
Copyright could be made subtler.
Consider moving Home and Site Map buttons to the left (e.g Home SiteMap Views accu-w sess.edu), its also pretty standard to use the banner as a home button.
Hope this Helps. |

Good point on the logo, Ellen. I'll give this some more consideration.
Because my web site contains 3 major sections (Accu-Write, Sessions.Edu, and Views by Linda), the page banner design was very challenging for me. My goal was to create a page layout that didn't look clunky or require too much vertical scrolling.
Back to the drawing board....!
