Christian, gotta tell you that yours was by far the most creative self-portrait - nice work with that! And I'm in HDR - no clue what I'm doing with it but it was fun. It'll suck quite well against the competition I'm quite sure! I'm in B&W with a truly suck picture. I'm quite proud of how much it will suck in scoring. Is that sick or what? |

I've got one in b&w, unusual composition, one of those supposedly hated topics... I expect some decent suckage!

Omigawd, are you entering a picture of a kid with a cat at sunset?? |

I'm also in B&W. Not my kid, LOL!!!! Though I have recently put a couple of him in my portfolio in B&W. We had rain all day, so I couldn't try out the HDR.

OK. Dilemma again. Just found a pretty good pic for B&W. It'll do maybe mid 5s. The one I've got in now will be lucky to hit 5. Do I bow to the scoremonger gods and switch? ARRGGHHH! |

Can't believe I actually was able to scramble something together for HDR. I think it's gonna be a "love it" or "hate it" reaction from voters...probably the latter. Also have something for b/w. No headwear or spots yet. We'll see... |

Put in what YOU like! That's what I've been doing lately. Screw the scores.

Go ahead, JP - one little ol' 10 for everyone here will make for an interesting graph point. :-) And Kelli - I like both of 'em. The one that will suck the least is quite nice (in my opinion of course) and I'm happy with it. The really suck one (still in, haven't changed it out yet) means something to me, but only me. Maybe I should just let that one be. I've got half an hour to decide - then I have to get ready for bed and such... |

If it means something to you, switch it - quick. There's nothing worse than getting mean comments on something that means something to you.

Put in the picture you love. Suck means never having to say you're sorry!

Damn. Wish I did needlepoint or something - I'd do that up. I may have to print it out and hang it on the wall at a minimum.
Seriously, though, very good advice. |

Just submitted b&w and headgear. Headgear is probably DNMC-but I never read the descriptions very well anyway. Now that I started a 12-step program for update addiction, I do feel a lot less sorry. |

I wussed. Switched the off the wall one for a very dull and boring safe one. Off the wall will quietly appear at some point in my portfolio, I'm sure. As will the shot for headwear I'm not entering. I am entered in spots.
Oh, and I have had scores off all week. I have no idea if my current member challenge entry is above 5 or not. Nor my neon. Kinda fun waiting to see!

I did it -- found out what HDR is and managed to put together a submission. I have no idea if this is what HDR is supposed to produce. We'll soon see. Anyway, there are some things I like about it. GO TEAM!:)
I'm in the B/W and Headgear too. Don't expect much from those entries, but think they won't suck as bad as my self-portrait, which I still like BTW.

... on a rock with blurry water around it.
Is anybody but me ready to put blurry water in that category yet? |

couldn't quite make the brown in long exposure. our own kdsprog managed that. I just want her to know that I gave her pic the same score I gave the blue ribbon winner.

Both my evening's entries are at a lovely 4.5. And I did switch out the B&W or I could be sucking even better! |

My long exposure shot just finished over the 5 bar, which puts it on my front page -
This was the shot that I first noticed the noise issue in, when viewing on my laptop. Normally, I see this shot as near-perfect matt black, but on other screens, or if I really lighten up this on my normal monitor, I see noise lines running all through it, and the large lens flare blob is visible near the top right.
What do you other suckians see?
Some good comments on it, either way :D |
