It's been hard going, but my long exposure shot has clawed it's way up to exactly 5. If it stays there it would have a chance of knocking simple pleasures off my front page. Which would be nice.

With five fairly varied comments. An interesting on this.

I'm not entered in anything else, though I have an idea for spots. If I get time to enact it it has good potential for an average mark.

Greetings fellow sucksters. I'd share scores but I don't know what they are. I have one in B&W that I'm fairly certain will score somewhere in the 4.7, maybe 4.9 range. Probably will not be doing either open challenge as I move to Germany next week. :-)

I've entered something in B&W. Presumably it'll score 4 or 5 like they all do. I'm expecting all sorts of comments along the lines of 'I do not understand this picture', formulated in such a way as to make me believe that they really don't. :)

Maybe I should have entered this in the reflections thing - chocolate box takes all.

I do not currently speak any German, which could make this move very interesting. I will be attempting to learn how to say "decaf tall mocha" as soon as I land, however. The rest will come. :-)

My household good are expected to arrive around the first week of December. It's apparently a VERY slow boat to Germany. By way of Australia most likely.

So I have this dilemma... I wasn't going to enter either of the open challenges, but I had an idea, so I went out and shot my idea. I like it. While shooting, I also got a lovely shot for the other open challenge.

The shot I set out to do is very much out of the box and will be subject to a lot of DNMC votes. The shot I stumbled upon will meet the challenge (I think!) and may almost be considered DPC-friendly, along the lines of my bokeh shot, only without a butterfly and without the bokeh.

I like both shots. I'm leaning toward the stumbled-upon...

Not a snowflake's chance on the brown, although my reflections opus is threatening to attain 4 (3.9932), so there could be a paradigm shift in the offing.

Sucking is a thing to do with pride. Being a Novice gives licence to practice the conceptually naÃ¯ve. These things may be completely untrue, but no one can stop you from either saying or believing them. Importantly, you make the picture which you can call yours and you enter it in the belief of its, and your, fitness, relevance and worth as part of the challenge. Honi soit qui mal y pense.
