Does anyone know if the zooming effect like this works on a non-SLR digital camera like mine? With long exposure, I can't seem to zoom in or out after pressing shutter. Any tips?

wo, very cool. That's one of the first things I wanted to try when I got my new cam. Totally forgot. Thanks for the reminder.

I don't think I could do that with my G2. Though you could use a 1/40 exposure and run towards your subject. I dunno.

Good luck.

I tried that - it works quite well. Almost entered a picture with that effect with my G2. Riding a swing/ see-saw/ roundabout and using a long exposure is also effective.

But otherwise, you need a lens that you can adjust the focus manually, usually only with an SLR type camera where you can rotate the focus ring with the shutter open.

I've done this with my film SLR. I zoomed in while the shutter is open.

I don't know if the zoom operation works on my digital camera once the shutter release button has been pressed.

I did get the effect in photoshop but with the use of two images taken with a slightly different zoom range, illegal here under normal challenge rules.
