Milton, I tried that site and I'm very happy with the results. I went with 2.0 as recommended. Previoustly I had adjusted the brightness but had lost contrast. Now it's back and all the picture for this week look super to me. :) |

Sonja, what kind of operating system on what kind of computer are you using. Sounds like yours is too dark. My blue is a medium dark slate blue. but names for colors can be tricky. Have you right clicked on your start page and looked in properties for your monitor/graphics card settings? |

I have a 2 year old compaq. I looked in the settings and found where my gamma was. And did what I was supposed to do. But it just doesn't look right, because now all my picture look to bright. And it is also hurting my eyes. Is that normal? |

Certainly the 'correct' settings for viewing pictures/ photographs on-line at 'optimium' settings, is probably brighter, and whiter than most people would like for general purpose 'computer use' (wordprocessing etc)

Sonja, also remember that when you first adjust the pictures to your liking it was in a toodark setting. Thus you over compensated. Now that the settings are correct you can see it. You also have PSP? It's gamma settings will also have to be corrected. My monitor is a 5 yr old Compaqe but I have a one year old CPU. I've had a time of it too. :-P
