I can see the blinds in the bottom row just fine on the laptop. I'm on my way in to work (just got back from the vet to get the health certificates for the cats), so I'll check there, too. I suspect on my normal monitor, which leans towards darkish, I might not be able to see them as well.

I can see them, too, on my new flatscreen monitor.

btw, I have decided to no longer seek the "good" in photography. Instead, I seek the "interesting."

When you get a chance would you look at this?

On my monitor, the window frames are light and there is detail (horizontal lines) in the bottom row.

On your monitor, is this light or dark? Are you able to see the horizontal lines in the bottom row?

Thanks.

Not easy, I had to get close and look hard.

The dominant genre is Cardboard Colour Neon Lunchbox, with appropriate penalties for interesting content.

A massive, over-enthusiastic novice welcome, Juli (sloppy kiss, clumsy hug, embarrassed failure to follow up with sparkling repartee). Lovely shots in your profile.

Maybe you'll find my reflections shot interesting, because the voters are NOT finding it good.

Mary, I can also see the blinds on the work monitor - a tad bit darker than the laptop but my laptop is heavy on the light end of things.

Hey there posthumous and fellow Team Minus-ers,

Glad to report my Neon pic is sucking along nicely at 4.8000...now must select a challenge for this week...how many are doing b/w?

11/08/2006 12:03:49 PM · #859
Thanks everyone. I believe my monitor is OK. And my new printer is getting closer to the monitor.

I'm not too worried about good or interesting. At least I have fun.

You're hallucinating again. That can't be good for a photographer.

No worries it's just colour-blindness ;)

My long exposure shot has clawed it's way up to 4.98. All things considered that's fairly good. Wouldn't say no to another .02 though.

My dreams of a six have been shot down... still Reflections is a PB. The rest are sucking along. Long Exposure might be a PW. I'll have to check that.

edit to add: I checked, my PW is 3.2, though I could still get there before that one's over.

I was foolish enough to look at scores this morning. I will not let that happen again. From now on, I'll find out my scores at rollover.

You keep saying that...

the spirit is willing, but the refresh is weak...

Nah, after seeing a 4.5 on my Neon entry, I think I've pretty much cured any urge to look at scores. They're just numbers. And while on that subject, there's no such thing as underrated or overrated - just underappreciated and overblown. :-)

And if any of my Team Suckmates get bored, I've got a folder where I'm sticking new stuff for comments.

As soon as I load up my car with stuff to give away at the office, I'll try to comment on everyone's Free Study, unless there's something you'd rather have me comment on instead.

I would definitely appreciate your comment on free study! It really left me scratching my head. It has deep colors, sharp focus, a pretty subject, and it earned a whopping 5.2.

This week every time I have the urge to look at scores I will make a comment instead. OK, who is with me?

I've made several hundred in the past week - I'm covered for a very long time. :-)
