Wanted to share this, I was testing some new lighting, and thought that it turned out pretty neat. I wanted to see what some other folks might think. Thanks!

The biggest thing for me is the distracting background. My eye wanters away from the little guy trying to figure out what is in the background.

The crop is also a little close and to centered. Perhaps something like this would look better?



Great eyes :) I like the tones of the photo.

Good point...I do think I like it better with the tighter crop. Does this one look better to your eye?

My personal opinion is that I do not like the eyes dead center in the frame in this case. It is much better than the first one you posted. :) Here are a few examples of close-crop photos from my portfolio with eyes following the rule of thirds....

This is much better, the original has a hard shadow on the BG that is very annoying. It creates an area of contrast that draws the eye as much as the pattern on the BG does.
