Since the current Free Study just passed the 600 entry mark, I believe that a two week voting period would be nice :)

EDIT: re-read the original post and realize I dont want a 2 week VOTING period (long wait for results!). I thought the OP meant to shorten the submission period to 2 weeks instead - which I'd agree to.

Well this is interesting. I have to go across about 40inches to get to the other end of the screen. Well, 600 entries. Okay, well, I guess if I vote I better start now. Oh no wait, roll over hasn't happened yet. Can we start roll over right now so we can start voting?

It wasn't 40 inches. Maybe 13. You've been lied to your whole life. ;)

Thankyou! Next time it's straight to jail...you don't pass GO....you don't collect $200....!

As for the topic at hand....I reckon we keep it at the time slot it is....two weeks of voting is going to grow VEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRY boring of having the same image on the front page...especially if the score is either a nail biter or just plain horrible.

Hmmmmm...................!!

Is that.....yes, I agree.....two weeks is what we need

or

no, I agree that two weeks is too long....

or

should it be

Oh Crap...I is confused!

In theory nothing wrong with it. But really the extra week won't change the outcome that much. If the longer voting was for more time, there is always plenty of time to check out the nice entries after voting.

I thought I remembered one where we had a month to vote on it. Maybe I'm just psychotic though.

Hmmmm. I don't remember that. But I'm sort of forgetful. I like one week, keeps it all nice and simple and nobody has to think about how long the voting periods are. And then, if we changed to 2 weeks for the month long free study, we'd have to have something like 5 1/2 months for the Best of the Year challenge. That would be really confusing.

You are correct, we did run a one-month voting period at least once. I wanna say it was for one of the "Best of 200X" challenges. I also tracked how many votes came in on my entry after the first week, and was very few.

I've requested this on several occasions and it never happens...

Edited to add: I even got a poll started once...

Well, the new (november) study is only 7 days, so it won't be more than 400 entres, probably :-P

That 7 day month sure cuts down on Christmas shopping.
