World Peace? Give me a break. So there was world peace before Bush and Blair teamed up to go into Iraq? I don't think so. I don't know if you're up on current events but I can give 10 attacks on the U.S. soil or on U.S. personel around the world MANY YEARS BEFORE BUSH AND BLAIR DECIDED TO TAKE A STAND. MY COUNTRY IN NOT DOING ANYTHING "TERRIBLE" IN MY NAME ! In fact, Bush and Blair are not going far enough to win this thing....we need to start KICKING SOME MORE ASS or I'll vote the party out myself for that reason!

Unfortunately, your beautifull country and largly wonderful population are having terrible things done in their name, do yourselves a favour and vote to get your dignity back.
When the time comes, I will not be backing Tony Blair here, I voted him in and now have to bare the responsibility for what him and his party have done in the name of world peace.
Anyway, this is getting a little off topic, yes there are a lot of flag images aren't there! Luckily the USA flag is one that I really like, a lot of the European ones are very dull, just crosses or bands of colour (except for my beloved Welsh flag of course) |

Sorry, but I am not going to take your word for this. It disturbs me to see someone say he is proud to live in a country that elected and re-elected an illiterate cowboy as their leader, the country that invades other countries for the reasons of profit, etc. |
If you check facts, they were two of the closest most disputed elections in our history. More than half the population didn't vote for him.(or just didn't vote at all) Our system of government also severely limits the powers of the President. Your perception, while one you have a right to, isn't as black and white as you'd like to think. By the way I may not agree with everything he does, I believe Bush graduated from Yale. Hardly an institution of illiterates...

LOL - you are right on that!

I was wrong to use the word "cowboy" as a derogative. |

I love my country, but I'm embarassed by its leaders. |
ditto....I LOVE my country...but hate the way our leaders have made us the stereotypical 'Ugly American'.
I really don't like 'that man' representing ME...I wouldn't talk to him if I was sitting next to him in a bar.

Yes, I followed both elections closely, I know the facts. I did not mean to say that the entire population of America does not see wrong from right; there are many Americans whom I respect deeply.
I was only saying, that at this particular point in time, I find it very strange to be unconditionally proud to be an American. |

and theres still even more to it than that. ive looked into leaving its not as easy as "pack your bags and get on a plane." even if you can afford it. there are visas and things at play that can take years to obtain. its not simple or quick at all.

Well done Kenskid, you are proof that there are a small portion of idiots in the US.
I don't recall saying there was world peace pre Bush/Blair in any of my post, what I said was that Bush/Blair decided that murdering 650,000 Iraqi's would be just the ticket to get the billions in the muslim world on side, and in Blair's case, he is doing it because my vote helped put him there. I should and do feel very sad and ashamed of the way Britain has conducted itself.

and another thing....
....My country sends billions and billions of dollars in aid to other countries. All this money is going to help people that I don't even know when right here in my own city of New Orleans I have neighbors that are living in trailers because they didn't have enough insurance when the hurricane hit.
Let's stop all aid to other countries until every LEAGAL U.S. CITIZEN is well fed and living in a HOME OF THEIR OWN.
If the U.S. is so bad why are there hundreds of thousands trying to get in LEGALlY and MILLIONS are trying to sneak in from MEXICO? Why....why?
Why do untold millions want to move here and BILLIONS take our aid but then we are PISSED on in return?
If we have any faults at all, it is that we are all idiots for being duped by the rest of the world.

A Non-American telling an American how to vote. That disturbs me. Wait till the terroists attack Canada, and Canada comes crying to us to fix it for them. The war has cost us billions and billions of dollars. How are we profiting again? Oh ya $3.00 Gas. So much for that theory. What could an impovrished former tirant dictator country possible have to offer us? Sand, and Oil. They can only produce .5 gigabarrels a year, and we have sanctions against buying it. Where in the heck are we making a profit in this war?
We get oil from...are your ready for this: The main suppliers of oil to the U.S. at this time are; Canada (1.68 million barrels per day), Saudi Arabia (1.49 million barrels per day), Venezuela (1.46 million barrels per day), and Mexico (1.35 million barrels per day).
Looks like the only people getting rich from the war are from Canada.

Your counter-arguments have nothing to do with the criticism directed at the US. A right does not justify a wrong. Nobody is criticizing US for aiding other countries or accepting immigration. Your argument is irrelevant. |

Doesn't matter if it is irrelevant to you or not...let's see how the world would do without US help of ANY KIND....Let's see how Russia, China or Saudi Arabia would come through to FEED THE WORLD...

I was not talking about profiting from oil. I was talking about the tremendous domestic military industry that generates billions of dollars in profit from every war. |

It is irrelevant from the stand point of logic - has nothing to do with me. Again, a right does not justify a wrong. |

Politics is the largest cause of hot air in the world.
Wind is, in part, caused by the airflow from regions of hot and cold air.
Ergo, politics is a leading cause of wind, and entirely on topic for that challenge ;) |

So...you're just going to go over your talking points huh? "A right doesn't make a wrong"????
Like I said before...the world would STARVE without the U.S. and unless you show me another country that would step up to the plate, you'll have to clam up.

Wait... So buy spending billions of our tax dollars on tanks, then shipping them overseas, and using them till they need replaced, we are generating revenues? The tank builder makes money, but they live here and spend their money here, so while they might make revenue, that hardly makes it worth our while to go out of the way to have a war. We would much rather build computers, and devise new ways to make the internet super fast. |

That is so funny. "politics is the leading cause of wind". Classic. I am cracking up.
What else is funny is that I lost .7 on my bokeh while in this discussion. LOL.

.7??! or .07 ? That much of a drop this late in the voting would take a lot of votes. Man, tough crowd if your image dropped .7 even in a full day.
I think i mine dropped .7, I would be in a negative overall score. :-)
