1968: Apollo 8, the first manned mission to the moon, is successfully launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, with astronauts Frank Borman, James Lovell, Jr., and William Anders aboard.
OH I guess I have to go to NASA and take pictures.... wonder how my hubby will take a few days alone with the kids? |

In the year of my birth:
Disneyland opened
James Dean died
Emmett Till was killed
Albert Einstein died
The Broadway version of "Peter Pan" with Mary Martin was shown on TV
McDonalds food chain was started
Salk Polio Vaccine introduced and
Rosa Parks was arrested for failing to give up her bus seat to a white man.
Any idea of the year? |

What year was dirt made in again? ;)
Wow, I have no clue what happened the year I was born as there were only 2 days left in the year when I arrived.
Edit: 1972- Dallas Cowboys win Superbowl VI
I was able to see them win the Superbowls of 1992, 1994, & 1995, but it's cool to know my birthyear was another great year for them.
