I have some (old) prints I want to scan and then possible enlarge, what would be the best settings to scan them? I have a 2400X2400 scanner. Also any idea what is the largest digital print size available?
Thanks

You would want to scan them at a resolution where you could end up with at least 300 dpi at your desired enlargement size...
If you had a 5x7 and wanted to produce a 10x14, you would want to scan it at 600dpi or better...

Remeber that a scan from a print is not as good as a scan from film, and you will see some degradation when you enlarge. I always scan at the highest setting, to best capture detail, and then reduce the file size in PS. |
