Please, I need some people who really want to help me improve. I need to know if anybody is willing to help me with challenges. Percentage wise, I get worse and worse with every challenge, compared to when I started. So I had a few lucky ones, but overall I really am bad. Is anyone willing to go over some challenges with me, let me know if I should just pass on entering them? I honestly thought my lighting was so dp friendly. I even hazarded to think it might ribbon, and it ended at 14%, so apparently I have no clue what is good photographically.

If you post a thumbnail in here you'll get a fair few comments.

I am not looking for comments, really. I can't post thumbnails for images I am considering entering for challenges. I am looking for help. I have a terrible sense of photo ability. i can't believe I can't be helped. I am not a lost cause. This means too much to me. It is too much a part of my life. I can't be so terrible that not anybody is even willing to help me.

Hey June,
A second set of eyes is right here if needed.
You can always send images to my email address on my profile page,
and I'd be more than happy to offer ideas, PP directions, crops, etc. prior to hitting the submit button.

hmmmm - just had a thought - I seem to be getting worse too. Oh heck, the more in a sinking boat the better. :)

Thanks Brad. I figure if it does go into a challenge, anybody who has offered to help via e-mail can just bypass my image, and not give it a vote. I plan on taking criticism of the worse kind, because I can't understand what others are seeing if they are being kind. Do not fear saying that the images are boring, lack luster, have no zip, any of those things that I never see on my comments. I will not be hurt.

I have no problem being impartial in a vote regardless if I know who's it is.
(well, except for that scalvert dude - he gets ones)*wink*
If I can't be impartial, I'll skip it.

Fell free to send anything by, edited, unedited, large, small, no matter. Getting your input regarding what you envisioned, what you felt/saw and what you want to convery in the challenge will be a huge help.
My email can take up to 20MB at a whack btw.

I seriously doubt that your photos are terrible. This place is a picky bunch for a start. Photos that get panned here would probably get acclaim from other places in equal measure.

Anyway I left my thoughts on your lighting entry, which I still think is a good shot. Bear in mind that whatever anyone says, they are the views of that person. They key thing is that you like your shots.

These thumbs are the top scorers from your best friend on DPC. Study them over, and over, and she'll help you more than anyone else.

While it's not the top rated image, I like the last image the most. I think you'll agree she has some beautiful images.

Some of them are highly underrated here at DPC. This one for example, with a slight tilt of the camera, could have been a top ten image.

She's learning that the lowest scoring images teach the most important lessons. I'm envious of her apparently boundless creativity. Fear of a low score doesn't keep her from entering what she thinks is a winning image. She's tough and has faced many challenges here on Earth. If you ask her, I'm sure she'll give you some pointers and advice.
