Started in the 7's, and have been slipping...
I think I should never have downloaded that EXCEL score progress spreadsheet...because I received a really positive comment and then got a 4 from that person! Sometimes I think I am too generous with my scores. I know we all have different voting systems, but a 4 from a really positive 'well done' comment? I just don't get it. I give 4's to really below average images...I know, I know...I am having a whinge :-(

I was predicting a 5.5, and this is below my average, but I just finished with a 7+ in the Morning challenge and my Lighting is at 6.25, so, yeah, whatever......I'm smiling

this is my first member challege (just purchased a membership) and no advanced editing on my photo...I still donnow how to do that...a lot to learn :-P but I like my picture the way it is....and I was hoping for a better score...so c'mon people, be nice....:-P :-P

I was down to 5.2 last night and it came back somewhat. I think I've lost my touch with either what makes a good picture or what DPC wants. I was convinced I was going to score in the mid 6 range and maybe even higher. I know I lost quite a bit in conversion to 640 & 150k, but didn't expect the current score. Yep, I'm discouraged these days. |

Hang in there teammate! It is early in the voting. My Lighting score was 5.8 the first morning and now is a full point higher and still climbing ever so slowly.
I've decided to quit trying to figure the voters, ther are a fickle bunch. Also, I've started taking the comments with a grain of salt. If a comment is constructive on photographic or techical merit, then I consider it. If a comment is more subjective like "I don't like flowers" or " the blown highlights bother me" then I will no longer try to appease these types. The subjective part I'll handle myself and I'll consider the constructive comments on their merit.
Just my 2 cents worth, plus Leading Lines and Abstract Food weren't that long ago!

Thanks for the encouragement. 4 disappointing scores in a row is tough, even if Leading Lines and Abstract Food weren't that long ago. It sure does seem long though.
As far as comments, most have been positive. It would be nice for somebody who voted low to tell me why, but I know to not expect that here. I can handle it. Really.

Edit: Forgot to add that at least I'm trying to do what I like instead of just pleasing the voters. There were a couple shots I could have submitted that would be quick and easy "ok" scores but I tried to do something I like and learn from it.
