Ok I took a couple of snapshots, the first one some pic I took of a friend and the second one a pic a friend sent me so that's not mine and played with them a bit, here's the result, what do you think? what would you do? just to generally make them look better, modelly even...feel free to edit, and share how and what you did! I love this type of editing, these are just bad snapshots, I was bored:P
And the other one!

I prefer the unedited ones altogether. The other ones look fake IMO. You are taking away their "freckles" which is what makes them, them. Am I making sense at all? Originals are much better.

I think there is a simple question to ask yourself here,
Do you want real-life portraits or glamour?
Unedited they portray a person, edited they show the sort of shot you would want to take for a mag. I like real photos, Neatimage and too much Photoshop give false images that start to look plastic.
But, hey, it doesn't hurt to experiment.
Enjoy it all and do what fires your rockets:)

But I was going after the kind of plastic modern time model look :) If this was for my portfolio or I was trying to take a good pic, I wouldn't dream of editing like this, I'm just playing around and seeing how much "prettier" by the magazine standards you can make someone look with photoshop :)
I feel like all the models and actresses today look like plastic dolls and just wanted to play along! Both photos suck (orginals and edited) :) just want comments on editing and to see what you all can do :) |

When I'm bored I like to edit photos from myspace and send them back. The girls usually love the results... and then I get models... LOL
The first one looks pretty good. If I hadn't seen the original, I'd be pressed to prove it was a "fake".
The second one went way too far though. She looks like a vinyl blow up doll...lol

hahahaha good Idea fotomann!!! I gotta try that sometime :) Yeah I had a lot less pixels to work with on the second one AND I screwed up the eyebrows big time!! In order to fix it I would have had to start all over and just couldn't be bothered :) |

I was bored so had a play around with them. The hair on the second one was driving me insane so I just went crazy and turned it into a funky digiart. I'm still trying to get a hang of hair tho :P

On the first, I think you did a wonderful job! I wouldn't change a bit.
On the second, you made her face to look like those porcelaine dolls - her eyebrows and blown skin tone - it looks more weird than MJ and I don't like it at all. I rather go with the rendition by TrynityRose, or stick with the original. |
