Original, unedited :
Original post-process :
And in B&W:
And if anyone can clone out the edge of the shirt that didn't get tucked in, and have it look good, I'd appreciate seeing it.

I didn't take the time to edit the shirt out, but it wouldn't be too difficult. I have made it less obvious though...I think. |

Eh...this one may be a touch better with the shirt cloned out.
7th month? That puts you due right around December. I thought you were due not long after me, but I thought it was more like 2007. |

Ooh - I really like the 2nd edit you did there. VERY nice.
As for due dates - technicalities say either the 12th or 14th. We're begging baby to hold on until the 20th though. And the way I'm feeling lately, I'd almost be surprised to go past 38 weeks (Nov. 30).
Basically - we figure that as long as baby arrives in the month of December, we're good !

The lines could be cleaner I'm sure. As long as you like it, that's all that matters. I was able to clone out the shirt rolled up and some of the shadow under it. Added a little diffuse glow...and that's it.
We are due December 23. We have been right on target for that date since the very first ultrasound. I'm like you...the way I feel, I don't expect it to make it that far. I really like the idea of a Christmas baby. My Mom's Birthday is Christmas Day. Originally, I wanted to have her on Christmas Day, but the more I think about it, the 23rd would be good. She would get to go home Christmas Day, provided all checks out well!! |

I'll avoid challenging you to a race then ;)
We're planning another homebirth, so as long as we get to 37 weeks, I'm happy.

Two more versions:
Slight color change on one and on both duplicated layer then radial blurred it set to hard light blending (35% opacity).

Assuming you were referring to me, here are the steps used.
In PS. I set my clone tool brush to 5, mode: Normal, Opacity 100%, Aligned checked.
Zoom in on the spot at about 375% and clone the under shirt shadow and belly line transition and begin cloning to the right, essentially pulling this line to the right painting over the shirt. I had to select several areas to "drag" as I went along to make sure the line looked reasonably natural.
I cloned the arm shadow up below the shirt, the shirt arm shadow down, and the side of the belly up to paint over the portions of the shirt that were more horizontal than the sloping shirt line was for the first clone performed.
I widened slightly the top of the arm shadow below the shirt as it made the transition from the arm shadow on the shirt and the arm shadow below look less abrupt and more naturally a shifted.
Hope this helps....pretty easy to do, less easy to explain.

Lea?
Off delivering?
No clue if you saw any of these and see you have no forum entries since this thread started.
I need to make some room in my portfolio, and will be removing them soon. |

Sorry for the lapse there. I have been away from the forums for a bit - the batteries in my camera died, and I hate coming back here when I have nothing to contribute.
I did get some rechargeable batteries a few days ago though, so as long as my energy holds up I'll be on until baby comes.
I like the B&W edits Brad, but can't say I'm so crazy about the toned ones.
The wider crop definitely looks much better too
