This sounds like a great project to participate in, but we might have to play hooky from our daily responsibilities to do it.

Let's see how many DPCers we can get published on 24/7, that'd be fun! |

Looking at the examples given, I got the feeling that they're looking for well-done snapshots. Did anyone else get that idea? |

Sign up as a Student, not an Amateur, Students and Pros get to enter 50 pics directly. Amateurs can only enter seven and must open a SnapFish account to do so. |

I know I also signed up as a student and a friend of mine signed up as an amateur, you get a lot more signing up as a student than an amateur. |

I'm game for that too, I just signed up. That would be awesome if we could get a good turn of Dpchallengers in there.

Hmmm, according to the rules, anyone who is "aspiring to be a professional photographer" would qualify, that would mean just about anyone.

I have sat here and read and read the instructions the only thing on file size I have seen is they prefer all photos be saw as RAW data and saved as the orginal, then converted to jpg for submission saving the RAW data for possible use in printing later, my question is has anyone seen anywhere where it says what size the photos are suppose to be width x length? |

Not sure how they'll base the decision on, but they're expecting 1 million photos to be submitted. Gonna be hard to see which one.
If you're from S. Dakota, you have a much greater chance though.
Originally posted by matt betea: I signed up as a student. Reading their "agreement" I didn't see anything that said you need to be enrolled in an academic institution. You don't need to be enrolled in a school to be a student. I don't quite understand their logic though. A student gets to submit 50 shots, an amatuer 7, a professional 250?! Professionals are also given Lexar 512mb and 256mb CF cards. So I guess what they're saying is, this is going to be an exibit for pros, but we'll open it up to the public for publicity? I mean heck, I'll shoot and submit, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're basing decisions on who's name is attached. |
