Good thread Doc.
Here's an obvious one... :)

Stereotype... Guns never do well here!

Yellow ribbon and a 7 plus score.

Yep, cool pic, but YIKES! I visited your profile page...at work...now I need to clean my browser cache and history. :( You might want to mark those nude images as being in the 'Nude' category.

Ok, I'll play.

Stereotype: Oversharpened/Heavy Neatimage (non-landscape shot)

Btw Doc, when did I rip you? I'm sure I have in the past but recently? :P

Seriously, I'm just tired of seeing the countless landscape shots that grace the front page and has nothing to do with you. I certaintly don't blame anybody for shooting what works as I am just as guilty of it. That shot of mine I still think is overrated. For example, Dax's shot in that challenge should have easily outscored mine. I went WAY over board with the sharpening to the point where to me it doesn't look professional.

Turns out it was Melethia, not you with the comment I had in mind. I knew it was all in good nature anyway. I'll fix it. ;)

Heh - and I ain't got a darn thing I can post to this thread. I'll happily take the blame, though.

Stereotype/Myth: DPC voters HATE kid shots and selective desaturization: ;)

last minute shots with bad lighting and random props do not score well.

Apparently both of you missed the wink at the end of my statement. I don't particularly appreciate being laughed at...and people wonder why some of the older DPC crowd have left the site.

flowers.... enough said, lol

10/12/2006 06:37:34 AM · #45
flowers don't do well

5th place with 6.71 - 146th with 5.49

Voters dislike loads of post-processing and Neat Image

4th with 7.11 - 106th with 4.6

DPCers prefer highly saturated pictures

blue ribbon with 7.04 - 59th with 5.21

Voters have no sense of humour

15th with 6.59 - 103rd with 5.6

I can give lots other examples to hold against most stereotypes as well as to confirm them - just from my own challenge entries...

Since there has been little change in my composing and post-processing abilities and all pictures have frames, it must be all about taste...
