Just a few from experimenting this morning:
I haven't had an opportunity to try out all the different modes and settings yet; these were in macro mode (which actually has two settings, one for closeup and one for extremely closeup). I didn't have to do much processing, just basic USM/contrast/curves and such. I have not changed the in-camera settings yet so I'm sure the contrast and sharpening and saturation can be adjusted if I decide to go that route.
The wide angle lens is pretty nifty. I snapped this while driving this morning:
I have lots of "relearning" to do and am a little surprised how awkward it feels to go back to the point and shoot after a DSLR. I do like the build and the feel of the camera, and think it has a lot of potential. I haven't used the RAW or the TIFF yet, just standard and fine JPEG. The movie mode is pretty nice and very smooth. I can already tell that I will be using Neat Image a lot; especially in low light, the noise is pretty obvious but I fully expected that. The shutter lag is also something I have to get used to again, but it's not unbearable as compared to a lot of point and shoots.
For just a little over $300 I think it's a pretty fair piece of equipment and hope to share more pics as I take them. You've been warned. ;)

A shot in Portrait mode; one is only slightly processed and the other heavily processed:

DOF on your macros is terrific, but they look slightly oversharpened. The color tones look nice. A small amount of noise evident, but not objectionable. I think you get a lot of good use from this camera! |

Congrats. I've never been impressed at all with the ergonomics and controls on Kodak point and shoots, but it's not the camera that matters anyway :p
The 24mm wide end is a cool touch. |

The one on the left is straight from the camera, no processing other than resizing for here. The one on the right has been processed.
Oh, and here is my OTHER birthday present. ;)

I was in a hurry and didn't think about saving for web...sorry! ;)
I do still have the convertible sitting in my driveway, with it's thrown rod, undrivable since May. I traded in the Suburban for the Sebring yesterday. :)
